HayFree in Real-World Use: Findings Highlight

Product: HayFree
Developed by: Bionutriva
Evaluation Period: March 2024 – May 2025
Sponsored by: Innowage UK

Introduction

HayFree is a proprietary, plant-based respiratory food supplement developed by Bionutriva, designed to support individuals affected by seasonal allergic rhinitis and associated respiratory sensitivities. With a formulation grounded in bio-functional botanicals and immune-modulating compounds, HayFree offers a natural, non-sedating alternative to conventional antihistamines.

To understand its effectiveness and user experience in everyday contexts, a post-marketing evaluation was conducted under the sponsorship of Innowage, the research and innovation division of the Vedansh Group of Companies. This study gathered real-world data through voluntary user feedback to assess the supplement’s symptom relief, tolerability, and quality-of-life impact during peak allergy season. As a non-interventional, real-world evaluation, it was exempt from formal ethical review under current guidelines, with participants providing informed consent for anonymous data sharing.

Methodology

The evaluation took place from March 2024 to May 2025, encompassing the height of allergy season in the UK. A total of 354 adult clients, aged 18 to 65, who had purchased or received HayFree through community access points or practitioner referral, participated in the study.

Participants were invited to submit structured feedback forms covering symptom changes, tolerability, any adverse reactions, and overall well-being while using HayFree. The evaluation did not modify participant behavior or treatment pathways and reflected typical, unsupervised usage conditions. Data were gathered through both digital submissions and paper-based feedback channels, coordinated by the Innowae clinical insights team.

Key Outcomes

The results demonstrated high user satisfaction and effective symptom relief. Within 10 days of starting HayFree, 76% of participants reported a significant reduction in core allergic symptoms, including nasal congestion, sneezing, itchy throat, and watery eyes. Notably, 60% of users—especially those with mild respiratory vulnerability—reported improved breathing comfort and reduced airway reactivity.

A marked reduction in the use of over-the-counter antihistamines was reported by 88% of users. Most participants (92%) completed the allergy season without the need for escalation to prescription medication, reinforcing HayFree’s real-world utility.

The product was exceptionally well tolerated. No serious adverse events were recorded. A small number of participants (under 2%) experienced mild gastrointestinal upset, which resolved without intervention and did not lead to discontinuation. No allergic or hypersensitivity reactions were reported.

Beyond symptom relief, HayFree showed significant benefits in enhancing users’ daily quality of life. Sixty-eight percent of users reported improved sleep quality due to reduced nighttime nasal obstruction. Additionally, 72% of participants described increased daytime energy, improved concentration, and greater overall wellness during the period of use.

Interpretation

This post-marketing evaluation highlights HayFree as an effective and well-tolerated supplement for seasonal respiratory and allergy-related symptoms. The findings suggest it may serve as a viable complementary or standalone solution, particularly for individuals seeking plant-based, non-sedating options to manage allergic rhinitis.

The user-reported outcomes align with Bionutriva’s original formulation objectives and reflect the success of HayFree as a consumer-accessible, evidence-informed wellness product. The strong reduction in reliance on conventional antihistamines suggests additional public health value in terms of reducing pharmacological burden during allergy season.

Next Steps

Building on these positive findings, Innowage will support an expanded longitudinal observational program to track seasonal outcomes and immune modulation over time. HayFree is also being integrated into virtual respiratory and allergy care programs offered through Bionutriva’s practitioner-supported platforms.
